An IP address alone cannot confirm whether you are using a VPN. Check the connection status in your VPN app. This lookup uses VPNio’s own endpoint.

VPNio help guide

VPNio connected but no internet on Android TV or Google TV

VPNio looks connected but apps will not load? Isolate ordinary Wi-Fi, all-app, one-app, public Wi-Fi, and server-status issues with safe checks.

First, test the TV without VPNio

A connected label is useful context, but it does not by itself prove that traffic is reaching the internet. Disconnect VPNio, then open at least two apps that normally use the internet.

If neither app works while VPNio is disconnected, focus on the TV’s ordinary network connection. Confirm that the TV is joined to the intended Wi-Fi network. If one app works and one does not, use the one-app branch below. If both work without VPNio but stop after VPNio connects, use the all-app branch.

Google TV menu names vary across devices and software versions. Use the device manufacturer’s instructions if your screen does not match an example.

If all apps fail only while VPNio is connected

The VPNio server-status page reports whether listed servers have checked in with the provider. It is not a speed test, and an online entry does not prove that your TV is connected or passing traffic.

  1. Leave VPNio disconnected long enough to confirm that at least two apps work normally.
  2. Check the VPNio server-status page on another device if necessary.
  3. If the selected server is not reporting online, wait and check again before retrying.
  4. If it is reporting online, reconnect once and test the same two apps again.
  5. If the result is unchanged, collect the support details below instead of repeatedly changing settings.

Try one safe restart

If your device has a familiar, non-destructive way to close and reopen VPNio, try it once. You can also restart the TV or streaming device using the manufacturer’s normal restart method.

Exact labels and effects have not been verified across every supported VPNio device. Do not use factory reset, clear-data, uninstall, reinstall, DNS changes, protocol changes, or split-tunneling changes as part of this checklist.

If only one app fails

Test a second internet-connected app while VPNio is connected. If the second app works, record the failing app’s name and exact message. If you know how to close and reopen that app without clearing its data, try that once.

Check the app provider’s official support or service-status information. A one-app failure does not prove that VPNio is down, and this guide does not promise access to any particular streaming service.

If you are using public Wi-Fi

Hotel, airport, and other public networks may require a sign-in or acceptance page before ordinary internet access works. VPNio cannot be meaningfully tested until that network step is complete.

  1. Disconnect VPNio and join the intended public Wi-Fi network.
  2. Complete the venue’s sign-in, terms, room-number, or purchase page if one appears.
  3. With VPNio still disconnected, confirm that at least two apps can reach the internet.
  4. Connect VPNio and test the same two apps again.
  5. If the portal never appears or ordinary internet still fails, ask the venue or network operator for help instead of trying to bypass its controls.

Keep the signals separate

The VPNio app state, ordinary internet test, server-status page, and individual app test answer different questions. No single signal proves the others.

In particular, an app label that says connected does not prove traffic is flowing, and an online status-page entry does not prove that your TV is using that server.

What to send VPNio support

Include the device brand and model, Android TV or Google TV version, VPNio app version if displayed, network type, selected server, date and time zone, ordinary-internet result, whether one or multiple apps failed, exact error text, and what the app and status page showed.

Do not include passwords, activation details, payment information, or full screenshots containing personal information. The current support page requires you to sign in.

Need help with your account?

Use your VPNio account to check your subscription and access details, or contact support. Include the device model, operating system, and exact error message. Keep passwords, activation PINs, and full payment details out of screenshots and messages.
